Superintendent Micaiah James Young, Sr.

Pastor Micaiah James Young is a native of Buffalo New York.  His formative years of ministry began as a youth at the Prince of Peace Temple Church of God in Christ under the tutelage of Bishop Leroy R. Anderson.  Elder Young delivered his first public message when he was just 9 years old.  After becoming a licensed minister at the age of 16 years old, Elder Young’s ministry began to flourish.  As a young evangelist, He ran youth revivals throughout Western New York and other parts of the country.  Later, Pastor Young relocated to Atlanta, GA where he received a B.S. degree in Psychology from Morris Brown College.  While in Atlanta Elder Micaiah remained faithful to God and continued to serve in ministry at the New Horizons Church of God in Christ where Dr. Oliver J. Haney is pastor.  During his tenure in college, Elder Young returned home at the request of Bishop Leroy Anderson to be ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ.

Realizing the importance of his call, Pastor Young enrolled in the Interdenominational Theological Center to pursue a Masters of Divinity.  Upon completion of his first year of seminary, Elder Young was afforded the awesome privilege of serving as a ministry intern at the Holy Redeemer Institutional Church of God in Christ. What Elder Young did not know is that through his internship, God was planting seeds into his future ministry, and that he would later return to Milwaukee.  The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord! Psalms 37:23.  After graduating from seminary, Pastor Young was offered a full time position in Milwaukee as a Project manager for the compassion capitol initiative in conjunction with COGIC Social Services.  In June of 2006, Pastor Young prayerfully accepted the project management position and relocated to Milwaukee, WI.  After arriving in Milwaukee, Bishop Daniels identified a congregation that was in need of a supply minister during the interim of their search for a new pastor after the demise of their sainted leader.  At that time without any foreknowledge of the congregation or any pastoral ambition, pastor young accepted the task of serving as the Supply Minister at the Morris Memorial Church of God in Christ.  For seven months Elder Young conducted weekly bible studies and shared pulpit duties as assigned by the Bishop.  At the end of Pastor Young’s tenure at Morris Memorial as the Supply Minister, the impact of his ministry continued to affect the hearts and spirits of many of the members.  As a result of his powerful preaching and dynamic teaching, Elder Micaiah J. Young was appointed as the pastor of Morris Memorial Church of God in Christ on December 29, 2006.  This appointment was influenced by the request of the majority of the congregants of Morris Memorial.

Since that time, Pastor Young has continued to preach and teach the unadulterated word of God with conviction, compelling men, women and children to surrender their lives to God.  Under Pastor Young’s leadership, Morris Memorial has experienced significant growth and many programs have been initiated to effect positive change in the lives of humanity.  The church name was also altered to become aligned with the new direction that God is taking the Church.  Morris Cathedral Life Center is the new name adopted by the Church, to both pay homage to the Founder, Bishop W. L. Morris, and to highlight the mission of the Church.

In Addition to serving as a Pastor, Elder Young serves as Superintendent of Wisconsin 1st Jurisdiction Progressive District.   He is also recognized as the founder of the COGIC College Student Network in the Church of God in Christ International Youth department where he now serves as one of the Vice Presidents.  He also serves as the Director of Command Central for the Church of God in Christ International AIM Convention.

Pastor Young’s heart of compassion has been demonstrated through his service as a hospital chaplain, senior citizen program coordinator, juvenile delinquent advocate, and a friend to those who are down trodden.  It is because of Pastor Young’s love for God, that he has dedicated his entire life to fulfilling the work of God on earth and advancing the Kingdom.  His motto is “Striving for Excellence in Christ.”  His unique ministry approach purposes to promote A More excellent Way.  Pastor Micaiah is a powerfully anointed young man who preaches an ageless gospel that transforms lives for the Glory of God!   Superintendent Young is proud to be married to the lovely Lady Audia Young.  Together they have two amazing children, Hannah Grace and Micaiah James II.
